Christmas 2023:

·

Christmas Eve was beautiful, a happy Molly, who slept like a baby. Woke in great spirits, enjoyed breakfast and waited patiently for her brother Will to arrive before we opened our presents.

Joy as she opened her much wished for ‘love heart’ ❤️ ring, couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw her Adidas tracksuit. 😍 I had no expectations so was feeling very grateful!

As the day progressed she wanted to go back to her home, which is fine but then as soon after, she doesn’t. She cries “ she hates her life and wants everything to go back to normal, she wants her routine back”. All of this has recently been lost because of Bipola depression and the catatonia.

Distraction helps but it’s a repetitive cycle which is on repeat constantly, she paces, and paces more…. She’s sad, she’s happy, she laughs for moments – her mood is unstable.

She has sat in the kitchen since 4pm it’s now after 8pm. We’ve got ready to leave, never managing to get out the door. We’ve packed and unpacked, I can only be patient and support. Keep out her way, give her space and avoid any sort of demand, keeping quiet and only speaking when I need to. Life for an autistic person is so overwhelming and just too much sometimes. Having a quiet one this year was the right thing for Molly but very different for me and Will.

Meds at 8 then…….now let me see, only God knows.

Merry Christmas! I think although different ours was partially successful, so pleased she came home to be with us. ❤️

(Ground hog days work maybe Christmas doesn’t)

Luv C x
