Amor fati is a Latin phrase translating to “love of fate” or “love of one’s fate,”describing a mindset that embraces everything that happens in life—including suffering and loss—as necessary, good, or useful. Popularized by Friedrich Nietzsche and rooted in Stoicism, it is an attitude of joyful acceptance, turning obstacles into opportunities for growth rather than merely enduring them.
Practical Application: For me this means transforming “Why me?” into “What is this teaching me?” and finding the strength to move forward.
To be honest I used to be ‘woe is me’ …… kind of person having a victim mentality. I have learned instead to develop radical self-awareness to catch disempowering and unhealthy thoughts, taking active accountability for my life, and shifting from passive blaming to proactive, solution-oriented behavior. I heard or read somewhere ‘No one is coming’ maybe it was Mel Robbins’ not sure, anyway it’s indicating that no one will rescue you, fix your problems, or fulfill your dreams. It signifies that you must take responsibility for your life, stop waiting for permission, and act yourself
At some-point I decided to love my fate!
Accepting my fate and seeing the “if not for”……………. this or that – all the lived experience, I would not be who I was meant to be or where I am supposed to be.
Flipping my script:
A situation, perspective, or established pattern to do things in the opposite way. It involves transforming negative situations into positive outcomes, changing behavior, or shifting from a defensive, reactive, or predetermined path to a proactive, empowered, or new approach. Everything is working for the good even if we can’t see it or feel it, life has a way of working all things for the good. (Romans 8:28)
I will update you on Molly after her home visit this weekend. No expectations, no plans, no pressure, just to be at peace, present and do my best, is a plan.
Now let me see
