Yesterday we had a meeting with her psychiatrist, truth is Mollys hypomania is not responding to Orlanzapine, the increase has made some things worse, increased appetite, agitation and irritability, some slight improvements to her sleep and obsessively changing her clothes (PJ’s), this behaviour has reduced.

A decision was made to increase the dosage, monitor for the next two weeks then decide on what next?

A hospital admission is potential, medications can be titrated up or down safer in hospital. I have always wished she could be completely detoxed – bless her.

One thing I know is that I cannot do a 24 hour shift, today I tried to get her to the Bladder and Bowel appointment at Wigton Hospital. Setting off was ok but half way there she wanted to return home. I lied and said “ this is the way home” we arrived and she followed me to the reception area, she got so agitated, she was screaming and shouting that she needed to go back, I apologised to the people in the waiting room, left a urine sample and within seconds Molly had bolted into the car park. We drove back in silence.

I have to remind myself that this is not Molly, all this scares me so much. I feel worried for her, worried for myself and worried for the staff team around her.
