I am curious:

The character trait of being curious is defined as a strong desire to learn or know something.

Molly has not been sick or in pain for approximately 10 days which is bloody amazing however I am curious…Why and how has it suddenly stopped after almost 2 years?

The biggest change has been reducing her Quetiapine from 500mg to 150mg which we now know she doesn’t metabolise well and was not without Molly suffering horrible side effects and thereafter withdrawal symptoms.

Amilsulpride was started on 19th March probably too soon to have affected the sickness stopping suddenly but possibly not?

Just had a thought…..at the last RADS meeting the psychiatrist changed Molly’s Quetiapine to a different modification (same drug) but prolonged release and I have just read the following:

A disadvantage of time-release formulations is that they may be incompletely absorbed; this is a serious issue in patients with acute or chronic intestinal hurry disorders, such as gastroenteritis or irritable bowel syndrome. Time-release formulations may also be more expensive than immediate-release formulations.

Timed release has several distinct variants such as sustained release where prolonged release is intended, pulse release, delayed release (e.g. to target different regions of the GI tract).

I hope it was never a cost decision but the price difference is very significant.

The next MDT will be very interesting as we will have the gastro consultant joining us. Molly should also be reviewed soon to agree to titrate the Quetiapine down even further. This should be an easier decision if she responds well to the Amilsulpride. Hopefully the review and next MDT will be combined.

Another Saturday night will Molly and it’s been smooth sailing. She looks well, slimmer and it’s nice to be rid of her constant pain and sickness.

Yes, she still in her iPad too much however research suggests iPads can be a valuable tool for individuals with autism, particularly for communication, learning and enjoyment. However, more research is needed to fully understand the long-term effects.

The screen time of children with ASD is longer than that of typically developing children and young people.

Right now Molly is safe, settled, comfortable, communicating and having a cup of tea watching BGT with me, a pretty normal Saturday night in 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻.

Last week was a hard one, I felt almost beaten with no fight left and nothing to give, experiencing a positive change couldn’t have come sooner.
