Enough:

·

I am feeling like enough is enough tonight, nothing any of us do can shift Mollys resistance to getting up… if that is what is presenting. Nothing I did or said or didn’t do or say changed the low mood today.

A visit from a family friend broke the negativism for a while, Molly laughed infectiously at something in her iPad which she obviously found amusing.

I am not giving up but I am asking when is enough enough? ……. will we still be sitting in her room on December 25th?

I know it’s hard to give you all a real feel for what’s going on here, but this is happening in lots of homes all over and the strain is toxic, toxic because the stress and strain is so prolonged, maybe tonight I am just having my very own pity party and losing hope.

Tomorrow I will hopefully speak with the psychiatric team (Monday call).

The Community Learning Disability Team are also visiting Molly in the morning.

I am off this coming week, some time out to quieten myself, slow down and evaluate.

I had a letter this week from Mollys psychiatric team apologising for the delay in fully implementing the RADS recommendations.

Last week we were unable to get Molly to her Bladder and Bowel appointment, we requested a home visit and her appointment is now planned for April 2024. We are challenging the delay and hopefully this can be brought forward as she is complex.

The Learning Disability Mortality Review (LeDeR) programme was commissioned to improve the standard and quality of care for people with a learning disability. The reports have identified that some people with a learning disability are more at risk of constipation than the general population. Reviews into the deaths of people with a learning disability have shown us that too many people are dying from constipation.
I just thought I would mention this because I will use this information to push for a sooner appointment. I am remembering also the fact that Molly was faecal loaded during her hospital admission in April 2023. Not a nice topic I appreciate but relevant as Molly can not always let us know how she is feeling and this can can also impact her on her presentation and behaviours.

I think that is enough for tonight!

Now let me see……
